Sea level rise has been occurring since the middle of the last ice age. Recently, however, their is widespread belief that the rate of rise is on the increase due to human activities. Over the next century, predications range from a 1 to 10 foot rise. This study uses a conservative estimate--3 feet over the next hundred years-- as a constant.
